Mt. Hood from Cloud Cap Inn
Ref.#16 7055 ~ Mt. Hood from Cloud Cap Inn
A trip I had planned for several years was to drive up to Cloud Cap Inn on Mt Hood, (elevation 6000’) on Mt Hood. Those plans were delayed twice by severe forest fires which nearly destroyed the historic Inn that was built in 1889 from surrounding timber and stone. The Inn was the first on the mountain for climbers and skiers forty years before Timberline Lodge. This view is from standing near the front deck of the Inn facing the mountain. (Note: Cloud Cap Inn is normally closed, except for tours, to the public as it maintained and cared for by the “Cragrats”, a mountain rescue group.
