My career at the time was working as a Project Captain in a medium size architectural office. On weekends I would take my family camping to the coast or into the Cascades. On this weekend I participated in a photography seminar at the Oregon State Marine Science Center in Newport, Oregon. After a morning class, everyone headed to the beach or the harbor to find great subjects. As is normal on the Oregon Coast high summer temperatures inland often means foggy days at the coast.
