When we travelled to Nova Scotia we were surprised to find many of docks and fish sheds in the older picturesque coastal villages and harbours had been destroyed by hurricanes. When harbours were rebuilt by the government they were sturdy concrete breakwaters. Not as pretty, but I am sure far safer for the fisherman. This harbor was well protected by its location.
