Under the Milky Way, this ‘37 Chevy is a reminder of the final days in the life of a once thriving gold mining town. By 1880 the town of Bodie bustled with families, robbers, miners, store owners, gunfighters, prostitutes and people from every country in the world. At one time there was reported to be 65 saloons in town. In 1962 the State of California took over the town in “a state of arrested decay” to establish Bodie State Historic Park.
