On a return trip from the San Francisco Bay area, I chose to drive the coastal route (US101). Near the Oregon border I passed this small field of Poppies and Lupine on both sides of the highway. In California, the wildflower blooms timing are totally dependent seasonal variations. This particular year it was great for this area.
As film speeds in the 1990’s were very slow (ASA50) I needed about 3 seconds of absolute calm for sharp focus, not easy to get when you are 30’ from passing traffic.
