Driving the backroads of New England reaps many opportunities and stories. We were driving back and forth between Vermont and New Hampshire when we stopped to photograph farming in the old ways ~ with horse drawn equipment. Not wanting to disturb the farmer, we stood on the shoulder of the road. He stopped his team and came over to proudly show off his team. His name was Raymond Haynes and at 80+ he was still using his tried and true method. He told us how his neighbors were deeply in debt with the latest modern equipment, yet nothing could replace his relationship with his team, Rosy and Lady. Then he pulled out a very carefully folded news article about how Woody Allen had come to see him, his team, and learn about his farm.
