From the Women’s Forum Memorial on the Historic Columbia River Highway, one has the iconic view of Crown Point and the Vista House above the Columbia River Gorge. The Vista House was completed in 1916 as a fitting memorial to “the trials and hardships of those who had come into the Oregon country”. Beacon Rock, another landmark, looms in the far distance. This image taken just before sunset picks up all the warm colors of a late day sun.
