The morning following participation in an art festival in Portland, Oregon “Old Man Winter” set in. I had winter tires on the van and chanced a trip 40 miles up the Columbia Gorge to photograph the falls. Luck was with me, I got the photograph and on the return to Portland the State Police shut down all traffic leading through the Gorge.
