Ref.#90 4804 ~ Ramona Falls, Mt. Hood
These falls cascade 120' over a formation of broken "columnar" basalt. This photograph covers only the lower portion of the falls which breaks over the stair-step effect. Located off the upper Sandy River on the West side of Mt Hood these falls are accessible until late fall when snow covers the trail or the footbridge across the Sandy is removed to avoid a washout from snowmelt. This photograph is taken in late spring when there is still a good runoff from Mt Hood to make a great photograph.
Shooting at shutter speeds of 1-2 seconds or slower gives a flowing/misty effect to the water.
